Annual Awards Dinner

A live awards program with a full band, DJ, and tightly timed segments demands more than equipment—it demands a system built for clarity, flexibility, and control. NyePro provided full audio production and show coordination for an 85-minute NACE Awards program featuring 21 segments and 31 vendors. The entire project was executed within a focused four-week timeline.

Overview

Downtown Sound, a 9-piece live band with a newly added brass section, led the live performance. DJ sets from Jon of Sugarbomb Entertainment and multiple playback sources supported the program throughout. Each component brought unique technical requirements, all unified within one cohesive system.

The venue presented a highly reverberant environment, so the system was designed around coverage and intelligibility rather than volume. A distributed JBL setup using PRX612M over PRX618XLF for mains, paired with PRX710 speakers on low-profile K&M stands, delivered consistent audio throughout the room. With microphones positioned in front of the PA throughout the event, precise deployment and tuning ensured stable, feedback-free operation.

At front of house, an Allen & Heath SQ5 managed 38 inputs along with multiple mixes and sends. We integrated with the band’s in-ear system and supplemented it with ME500 units while coordinating 18 wireless channels across microphones and IEMs. A wireless intercom system and dedicated producer mic supported stage management and real-time communication throughout the show.

DJ audio supported each dance and talent performance within the program.
We also provided a corporate video audio feed and multitrack recording of the band for post-event use. With the deployment of an IP-based run-of-show system, stage management maintained alignment across all 21 segments, resulting in a clean, controlled production from start to finish.
